LiFT Training

What can I expect?

The LiFT equipment is portable so the program can be done at home.

The LiFT (Listening Fitness Training) has two phases, one passive and the other active. Each phase consists of 30 hours of listening over the course of 2-1/2 weeks, 2 hours a day, with a day off every 6 days. After the passive phase is completed you are off for about a month before beginning the active phase. This allows your system to integrate the work from the passive phase.

 
 

Phase 1: Passive Listening

During the passive phase, the trainee listens to special recordings of music by Mozart that have an enhanced high-frequency output. This music is played through the Listening Fitness Trainer (LiFT) which is a portable version of the Electronic Ear invented by Dr. Tomatis.  

Duration: 30 hours over the course of 2-1/2 weeks, 2 hours of listening a day

 

Phase 2: Active Practice

During the active phase the trainee does a combination of passive listening and humming, singing, and reading out loud using a microphone with the LiFT.  

Duration: 30 hours over the course of 2-1/2 weeks, 2 hours a day
